Rosé

There is so much thought and consideration that goes into our lightest and most delicate wine! Made only of red grapes grown with the intent of being made into Rosé, and taking inspiration from the Rosés of southern France, this wine is majority Mourvèdre, with a good percentage of Grenache and some Syrah.

Remember to drink in the now with this delicately colored and exuberantly flavored happy drink. As a wine, Rosé has so much to say, yet is completely unpretentious. She’s an actress that looks different in all her various roles, able to pop up at dinner with the queen in the finest crystal or poolside in a solo cup. Let the exotic pineapple, guava, lime and strawberry character and mouth-watering acidity make you walk a little on the lighter side of Rhône grapes.

Riedel glass and a croquet match or horseshoes with a red solo cup, Epoch’s 2013 Rosé is for pure enjoyment and relaxation. A nod to Bandol and the south of France for inspiration, our Rosé is made with the intent of being a light, crisp and refreshingly textured wine. Produced from a mixture of whole cluster pressed Syrah and Cinsault along with saignee juice from our Grenache and Mourvèdre, we ferment and treat these red grapes as if they are white. Think citrus blossoms, strawberry-rhubarb purée and lime and you are on your way to that happy place! – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

“Sittin’ on the dock of the bay”… Fastforward to your happy place with a glass of Epoch’s 2012 Rosé. Intentionally unpretentious, our rose is the alter ego of the Rhône grapes, seemingly a white wine despite being made from only red grapes. Made in a true provençal style, from red grapes gently pressed and handled like white grapes, Epoch’s Rosé is as sophisticated as you want it to be: white linen jacket or your grubby t-shirt. Crack this puppy open and unleash the true essence of summer. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Giving respect to the Rose…a perfect balance and still complex. Epoch’s first ever rose was made through a variety of ways: whole cluster pressing, destemmed berry pressing (with and without skin contact), and finally a small portion of saignee from one of our Grenache tanks. This wine is bright and delicious with a myriad of fruit aromas and flavors: strawberry, raspberry, white peach, kiwi and a slight hint of fresh watermelon. This wine is made for your hedonistic enjoyment today, tomorrow and throughout the next year! – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
