COVID-19 Updates from Epoch

Tasting Room Reopening January 2021

We are over-the-moon that the California Stay-at-Home order has been lifted and we can once again welcome people to our Tasting Room for in-person, outdoor tastings.  We are also open for curbside pickups from 10 – 4 PM daily.

January 25th, 2021 | 12:00 PM

Tasting Room CLOSED

Please note that in accordance with the state of California’s new COVID-19 Regional Stay at Home Order, our Tasting Room will be closed for at least the next three weeks.  Until we know more, we are going to pause on accepting future in-person reservations.  For those who had appointments over the next three weeks, we will be calling you shortly to update you on the temporary closure and alternative tasting options.  We are hopeful this Stay at Home Order will be much shorter than the last.  Stay tuned!

In the meantime, call us at 805.237.7575 for curbside orders of at-home tastings or bottle orders!  At-home tastings cost $60 and include the five wines we would have poured for you in the Tasting Room.  Each tasting contains enough wine for two people, and a private virtual tasting is a complimentary add-on should you want some Epoch company.  Ü

We are open for curbside pickups from 10 – 4 PM daily.  And for holiday shipments, please remember that you have one more week to order. Our last day to ship before Christmas is Monday, the 14th!

Tasting Room Open Outdoors Only

We are still open! Due to COVID-19, we have implemented several safety measures to protect our guests, team, and do our part in continuing to flatten the curve.

All tastings are conducted outdoors. We strongly encourage you to check the weather and dress appropriately. If we are enduring extreme heat, hazardous air quality, rain or any other high risk weather condition your appointment is subject to cancellation.

You are required to wear a face mask when not at your designated seated area.

We can only accommodate groups of 6 people or less.

If you are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 you may be asked to leave. We would hate to do this, so we please ask that if you’re not feeling well to please stay home!

Tasting Room Update: Re-opening Friday, June 12th

We are thrilled to announce that we can finally re-open our Tasting Room this Friday, June 12th!  As we begin to welcome y’all back to York Mountain, please note that things will look a bit different as we strive to make everyone’s safety top priority.  We will continue to offer hour-long, flight style tastings by appointment, however, now we can only welcome a maximum of six guests per reservation.  This guest count includes all non-tasters and kiddos over the age of two, so please plan accordingly.  All guests are required to wear face masks when not seated at their designated tasting area, and six feet distancing with all other groups must be maintained.  Our team will be wearing masks during the entirety of your visit, and we will be following all of the State’s recommended protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of both our guests and our staff.  All highly trafficked areas of our Tasting Room will be thoroughly sanitized throughout the day, and all seating areas will be sanitized between groups.  Hand sanitizer will be provided at each seating area, as well as throughout the Tasting Room, so we encourage all visitors to lather up frequently during their visit. Ü

We are offering staggered appointments every day between 10 AM and 4 PM.  To ensure we can accommodate you with a more limited schedule, we ask that you please make an appointment at least 24 hours in advance.  To book your appointment, click here or give us a call at 805-237-7575.  Upon arrival, please stop at the gate to check in with our Epoch team member before parking and proceeding to the Tasting Room.

Please remember that Epoch requires the use of face masks for all guests visiting the property.  Guests not wearing a mask, not adhering to social distancing, or any individual appearing to be sick will be asked to leave.  We would hate this just as much as you, so we ask that you please take these requirements seriously before heading our way.  Thank you in advance for your understanding and your help in keeping Epoch a healthy and safe destination for all.  We are so excited to greet you with a masked smiling face soon!  Ü

Tasting Room Update

We are still waiting for the official announcement that Tasting Rooms can re-open.  We realize you may be receiving emails from other Paso wineries about their re-openings.  Technically Tasting Rooms fall into Phase 3 of the California Resillience Roadmap, which has yet to fully roll out.  However, if wineries start serving bona fide meals (in partnerships with a restaurant, caterer, food truck, etc.) they are permitted to open now.  While we thought long and hard about going down this road to speed things up, we do not want to add anything to our repertoire that we would not continue once things normalize again.  Therefore, we are going to wait to open our doors until the state says Tasting Rooms can officially re-open.  We feel that this announcement should come any day now.  In the meantime, we are training our team on all of our new COVID-19 protocols, so everyone, you and our team members, feel super safe upon visiting us again on York Mountain.  Ü  Also, our curbside pickup hours have extended to 10 AM – 4 PM daily, so locals, swing on by the next time you need a refill!

San Luis Obispo County Extended Shelter-At-Home Order

Epoch will continue to operate in the same capacity, with curbside pickups available daily from 10 AM – 2PM.  Please call us at 805-237-7575 to place an order for pickup, or enjoy inclusive shipping through our Online Store.

SLO Co. shelter-at-home order extended through mid-May
County officials review the order every 14 days

“San Luis Obispo County residents will be sheltering at home through at least mid-May.

County officials review the order, which first went into effect March 19, every 14 days and announced Friday the order would continue until at least May 16.

Today is the second 14-day review to have taken place. It’s still unknown when the order will be lifted.

“Our goal is to be ready when the Governor lifts the State’s Order and transitions all authority back to local officials,” County Emergency Services Director Wade Horton said in a press release. “With our order in place concurrent with the State’s order, we still have some local control over what we can do. If we lift our order, we are completely under the State’s authority.”

New Options for Wine Pickups

With so many of us in a shelter-from-home status, we hope that you are hanging in there and finding some joy in this forced slow-down!  While we wait this out, we wanted to follow up on your Spring 2020 order and offer some pickup options.  Goodness knows, alcohol of any kind is much needed these days, so below we have listed three ways for you to access your new Epoch wines:

Option 1) Curbside Pickup Now

We will be offering curbside pickup between 10 AM – 2 PM every day.  If you can, please give us a 48-hour heads-up as to your arrival date and time, so we can have your wine packed and ready to go.  If you would like to add any additional wine to your order (see our Online Store for some ideas), please give us a call at 805.237.7575, and we will do our best to make that happen!  To snag your wines via curbside, you should pull up to our ADA gate (the gate closest to our Tasting Room), push the call button so we know you are here, pull in, pop open your trunk, and we will carefully place your order in your car.  We promise to not linger back there, keep our hands to ourselves, and send you off with a big Epoch “see you soon” wave!

Option 2) In-Person Pickup Later

If you would like to wait until the Covid-19 fog lifts to pick up your wine, we totally understand, and we’ve got you covered.  We will store your order at 58 degrees Fahrenheit until we reopen and you are ready to come back in for a visit.  Please let us know if hanging tight is how you would like to proceed right now.  No matter how weird things get in the meantime, we promise not to open your wine. ; )

Option 3) Shipping Your Order

If you were planning on picking up your wine but would now like to have it shipped instead, we would be happy to cover the costs of shipping this go-around.  We can ship your order as early as Monday, March 30th, so if this is the route you would like to take, please send us an email with your shipping address.  We will be monitoring shipments closely, but your help in sharing your most up-to-date information is huge in making sure everyone’s wine arrives safe and sound.

San Luis Obispo County health officials issue shelter-at-home

San Luis Obispo County Public Health officials announced an order Wednesday for all county residents to shelter in their homes.  The shelter-at-home order goes into effect on Thursday, March 19 at 5 p.m. and will remain in place until further notice.

We are still available by phone daily (805-237-7575) and are here to answer any questions regarding your Spring 2020 Release Order or to help place new wine orders to ship.  Our online store is also up and running with all Tasting Room current pours, and other fun wines to help get you through these crazy quarantine times.

Tasting Room Closed

Due to the latest guidelines from Gov. Gavin Newsom, we will be closing our Tasting Room to comply.  We are sad that we won’t be able to greet each of you in person, but we are a phone call away if you are needing to fill your cellar with Epoch wines.  Goodness knows that we all need wine during these quarantine times.

We are actively working on a plan for Spring 2020 Release Pick-ups and other operations, so check back on our website for the most current information.  Stay healthy and well hydrated during these ever-changing times!  ❤️🍷❤️

Spring Pickup Parties are Cancelled

California has banned all large scale gatherings, so sadly, we must comply and cancel our Spring Pickup Events.  Pickup Parties are the best combination of close-talking, wine-cheers-ing, food-passing, and dare we say it, spit-cup-sharing fun; clearly, now’s not the time for that.  If you have already RSVP’d and received your confirmation tickets through Tock, we will honor all current tickets for our next Entourage event, or you can request a refund here.  In a perfect world, we will reschedule the Release Party soon, but there are too many unknowns to make that call right now.  Once things settle down, we will be in touch with updates.

Spring 2020 Pickups

For those who planned to pick up their wine at our Pickup Parties, we will have this wine available at our Tasting Room starting a week earlier than intended.  Spring 2020 Release orders will be available for pick up starting Monday, March 23rd.  Please give us a 48-hour heads up as to your arrival date and time, so we can have your wine packed and ready to go.  If you were planning on picking up your wine but would now like to have it shipped instead, we would be happy to cover the costs of shipping this go-around since circumstances are so crazy right now.  Please send us an email with your shipping address if this is the route you would like to take.

Spring 2020 Shipments

As of this moment, we are cleared for shipments on our expected dates: March 23rd for all states except California and then March 24th for all California orders.  We realize that life is a little mixed up right now, so if you need to change your address due to an office closure or delay your shipment due to sheer Corona craziness, please reach out to us ASAP – between now and Monday would be best if at all possible.  We will be monitoring shipments closely, but your help in sharing your most up-to-date information is huge in making sure everyone’s wine arrives safe and sound.

Taking Care of our Staff

Most of you know as well as we do that we have one of the best teams on the planet, and taking care of them is our #1 priority.  All members of Team Epoch are instructed to keep us updated on how they are feeling and their comfort levels about working with guests; we will make all the necessary accommodations to make sure everyone is at ease during this period of uncertainty.

SLO County COVID-19 Updates

Need ‘Quarantine’ Epoch?

Now that all Release loose ends have been tied up, our Online Store is back up and running.  You may not have enough toilet paper to ride out Coronavirus, but we certainly don’t want you to be without wine.  As mentioned, shipments thus far are still operating as normal.  If you want more Epoch to accompany your home quarantine, we will cover ground shipping costs for orders of any size for the next thirty days.  Our Online Store only has a few wines available, but let us know if you have any special requests, and we will see what we can do.
