2021 Vintage: Jeb Dunnuck Accolades & Scores

#62) Jeb’s Top 100 List
2021 York Mountain Syrah | 99 points
Based on 96% Syrah and 2% each of Roussanne and Viognier, the 2021 Syrah York Mountain has a juicy, medium to full-bodied, ripe, yet still somehow cool climate-like personality in its red, blue and black fruits as well as notes of peppery herbs, iron, black olive, and violet-driven aromas and flavors. It’s balanced and has a layered, sexy mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This magical Syrah flirts with perfection. It benefits from plenty of air (I followed this bottle for multiple days), and it’s going to see its 20th birthday in fine form (although I love it today).

2021 Block B | 99 points
Coming all from a single block in the estate Paderewski Vineyard, the 2021 Syrah Block B (100% clone 174 Syrah) is another killer wine from this team. Pure blue fruits, graphite, iron, smoked herbs, and freshly ground pepper are just some of its nuances, and this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a deep, layered, flawlessly balanced mouthfeel, moderate acidity, and a thrilling finish. It’s going to continue drinking brilliantly for a solid decade.
