Biography: With its gorgeous, purply-ruby hue and exuberant fruit, the 2019 Sensibility charms from the get-go, but after a few sips, its complexity builds, and seriousness sets in. Black raspberry and cherry dominate at first, then lead to crushed rocks, sage brush, fresh-cut roses, cream, bergamot, wet soil, naval orange, and white pepper. The weight and texture also start introverted, but steadily open to a full mouthfeel, with structure making its presence known mid-palate and persisting thru the finish. With its fresh, boisterous aromas, and slowly-unraveling complexity, this 100% Grenache from Paderewski Vineyard is sure to show glamorously in your cellar for at least a decade.

Biography: Like a beautiful blonde you think you’ve got pegged as superficial from first contact, the 2013 Sensibility seems to be mostly laden with voluptuous berry fruits residing on the front palate. With time, however, this seemingly textbook American chic will continue to surprise you with her off-the-beaten-track intelligence, complex personality and down-to-earthiness. As you wait for the first sip to hit the back of your throat, you realize you’ve judged this “pretty” girl wrong, her beauty lies in how effortlessly she destroys all “simple Grenache” stereotypes and straddles both new and old world wine flavors and sensations in one lingering sip.

Biography: Drumroll… our 2012 Sensibility is 100% Grenache!  And Grenache purity is what you will get! This wine is the result of an experiment to age our Grenache in concrete for the first year of its life, which helped preserve its intense aromas and enhance its minerality and texture. The aromas and flavors are irresistible – tart berry, fresh whipped cream, blood orange and a touch of vanilla – which combined with Grenache’s pure chalky tannins, help fine tune your senses. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Hometown:
Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
Education: Aged for 18 months in a once-used French oak puncheon
Siblings: 87 cases produced

Biography: Predominantly Grenache produced from the Spanish clone, Garnacha 52, the 2010 Sensibility was, believe it or not, the sleeper wine from its vintage. Fermented and aged in puncheon, we left this Grenache alone to chill a bit post harvest. After 15 months in barrel, the wine started to come out of its shell and show its true (and oh-so-bright) colors. In addition to the bright aromatic components, the texture of this little ditty is memory-making, reigning in the lushness, and making you thirst for another sip. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

Paderewski Vineyard, Paso Robles
Education: Aged in 23 months in 30% new French oak

Biography: Grenache took the leading role in the 2009 Sensibility due to our desire to craft a nuanced wine that dances a little lighter on its toes. Its nose delivers layers of character and subtlety which echo through its balanced and finessed palate – violets, lavender, citrus essence, raspberry, dried cranberry, crushed limestone. Pinot-lovers watch out! Have you ever seen west Paso be so feminine? – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
