Zesty, mineral-laden, and uber bright, the 2021 Epoch White is as refreshing as walking on the beach after the rain. Bursting with aroma and flavor that are equal in intensity and balanced from start to finish, this wine exudes lime, lemon, tangerine, crisp white peach, crushed gravel, flint, honeysuckle blossom, fresh cut hay, candle wax, vanilla bean, and powdered sugar. Dots of texture pick up on the back palate, adding to the wine’s complexity. It is an experience to watch Epoch’s White evolve and develop over time, and this wine should continue to impress and move the needle for the potential of Rhône white blends for 10-plus years.

This extended age version of our 2020 Epoch White is the same blend as our earlier bottling, just aged a bit longer in French oak foudre, and thus boasts a weightier palate with more umph. The extra aging gifts us a seriously complex and layered wine with exuberant and inviting flavors of green mango, grilled pineapple, yellow peach, wet gravel, vanilla bean, honey, and brioche toast. The palate is lush and round with flavors evenly flowing between fruit, minerals, and oak, and ending with a slight up-tick in texture on the back palate, which corsets all the complex character into a gorgeous, long finish.

The 2019 Epoch White is our characteristic combination of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, and Roussanne but with a twist: we have added a new fermentation vessel to the mix for complexity, a French oak Foudre (or more simply called an oak cask). Having been raised in various concrete vessels and oak formats, this wine is mineral-laced with ripe yellow peach, lemon oil, green pear, fresh cream, wet clay, and a hint of brown baking spices.  Our white is an ace at pairing with some of the most challenging foods (artichokes and Thai or Mexican dishes) and will not disappoint with a few years of cellar age.

Refreshingly bright and exuberant, Epoch’s 2018 White is bursting with gorgeous aromas, texture and mineralogy. Ripe green and yellow melon, wet rock, white pineapple and baking spices on the nose make your mouth water, begging for a taste. Yellow peaches, fresh cream and meyer lemon are laced through with crushed rock and delicate texture.  Drink it now but also lay it down for one to four years. You won’t regret it.

A white for all seasons (and all meals!), and don’t be afraid to hide some in your cellar for a while. Grenache Blanc has found such a sweet spot fermenting and aging in concrete that we had to try our hands at Viognier in concrete as well. We love the results and depth of character that intertwine in this bold yet light-on-its-feet Southern Rhône-inspired blend, loaded with citrus, pineapple, cream and a touch of barrel spice from the Roussanne.

She’s a white wine, but she is mighty and built to last. Like opening Pandora’s box, uncorking this wine is a wild ride of explosive favors – white peaches, citrus blossoms, ginger, lemon oil, crème fraîche, dried straw and custard. Grenache Blanc and Viognier fermented and lees-aged in concrete deliver abundant freshness and rocky minerality. The third sibling, Roussanne, returns to the DNA and lengthens out the palate, gifting age-worthiness and a honeyed viscosity. The 2015 Epoch White will wow you now and for several years to come. Age her – we dare you!

To look at Grenache Blanc and Viognier, you might think, “what would their kid look like?” Well, these two have hatched an equal-parts lovechild as our newest generation of Epoch White. Like a good child, she represents the strengths of both her parents. Sporting all the sea-salt minerality, grapefruit, white flower, and fresh hay of Grenache Blanc, and her Viognier roots contributing ginger, rose oil, and fresh peach, the combination is fresh and bright, yet weighty and age-worthy: the perfect union.

Thirst-quenching, rock licking, ambrosia in a bottle – a deliciously serious twist on white Rhone varieties. We have officially geeked out and done many different fun winemaking techniques on this white – from concrete fermentation on Grenache Blanc to skin contact on the Viognier. The result is a wine with great minerality and acidity (thank you Grenache Blanc) with mouth-coating stone fruit and ginger spice elements courtesy of a nice wallop of Viognier. This wine should age beautifully, if you’re willing to wait that long! – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

White peaches and liquid minerality – Epoch’s 2012 White has a racy Grenache blanc backbone with spice and floral elements from Viognier and a little Roussanne to round out the palate. This was our first year fermenting and aging Grenache blanc in concrete, which gave us levels of texture, complexity and a purity of site. – Jordan FiorentiniWinemaker

No flabby feelings allowed for our Epoch white! Our estate-grown Grenache blanc is the main player in our crisp and refreshing white Rhone blend, with smaller amounts of Roussanne and Marsanne adding spice  and complexity. White grapefruit, citrus blossom and lemon oil aromas lead to a brightly textured palate, alive with citrus, wet stone and a delicious creaminess. To preserve its delicate fruit, this wine was gently vinified and produced without exposure to oxygen or cold stabilization. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker

As inviting on  the nose as it is on the palate. Epoch Estate Wines’ first white wine, this 100% Grenache Blanc is as inviting on the nose as it is on the palate. Bright lime, lemon and grapefruit aromas accompany a hint of white flowers, apricot marmalade and grilled pineapple. This white is a smooth-drinker with creamy citrus, fresh mango and lemon bar flavors. Its full, mouth-coating palate is the perfect accompaniment to a variety of summer salads, sandwiches and fish dishes. – Jordan Fiorentini, Winemaker
