We’re thrilled to celebrate a historic milestone for Epoch Estate Wines: our 2023 Block B has received 100 points from Jeb Dunnuck, making it the first 100-point wine in Epoch’s history.

This exciting recognition comes alongside another special honor: Epoch Estate Wines was featured in Jeb Dunnuck’s latest Paso Robles report, “Paso Robles: The Sun-Kissed 2024s and a Classification of Top Estates.” The feature highlights Epoch among the notable estates shaping Paso Robles today.

Our 2023 Block B is a singular expression of our Paderewski Vineyard, crafted from 100% Syrah grown on Block 13, known as Block B. This special site has long been an important part of Epoch’s story, and we’re incredibly proud to see this wine receive such meaningful recognition.

100 points. First for Epoch. A milestone we’ll never forget.

“All Syrah from a single block on the estate Paderewski Vineyard in the heart of the Willow Creek District, the 2023 Syrah Block B was fermented with 28% whole cluster and aged 18 months in French oak, 52% being new. It has sensational aromatics of black and blue fruits, blood orange, ground pepper, and a Guigal La Mouline-like floral and white peach-like character soaring from the nose. It’s fullbodied on the palate, with a deep, layered, seamless mouthfeel, polished tannins, and a gorgeous finish. It’s the most complete and layered of the Syrah releases and tops out my scale. Hats off to Jordan Fiorentini for this absolutely captivating Syrah that I wish every reader could taste. Drink 2026-2041.” -Jeb Dunnuck
